Dateline: March 14, 2025 - PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Essex on April 10th, 2025 at 6:15PM in the evening, at the Town Hall, 2313 Main Street, New York 12936, to hear all interested persons pertaining to Local Law No. 1 of 2025 entitled “A LOCAL LAW ENACTING A TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ON SHORT-TERM RENTALS IN THE ESSEX HAMLET & HISTORIC DISTRICT”.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that a copy of said proposed local law is available for review at the Town Hall, 2313 Main Street, New York 12936 or by electronic copy.
All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard in person or by directing comments in writing to the Town Board, 2313 Main Street, New York 12936. All reasonable accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. In such a case, please notify the Town Clerk in advance at the above address or by phone 518-963-4287 x1 so that arrangements can be made.

The Assessors and County Data Collectors will be visiting each home in the town. If you have any questions about the process, please contact the Assessors Office at 518-963-4287 x6. Dateline: August 30, 2021 - Insufficient Funds Check Fee - Effective 8/26/2021 by order of Resolution #123-2021, the Town of Essex will charge $35.00 for all dishonored or stopped payment checks given to the Town of Essex for services.
