April 21, 2026 - NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED COMPREHENSIVE PLANPLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Essex, Essex County, New York, will hold a public hearing on May 14, 2026, at 5:30PM at the Essex Town Hall, 2313 Main Street, Essex, New York, to consider the adoption of an updated Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Essex.
The proposed Comprehensive Plan has been prepared with the assistance of the Essex Comprehensive Plan Committee, which conducted public outreach, held a public hearing on the draft plan, and incorporated public comments into the final draft now under consideration.
The purpose of this hearing is to provide an opportunity for residents, property owners, and other interested parties to comment on the proposed Comprehensive Plan prior to its consideration for adoption by the Town Board.
A copy of the proposed Comprehensive Plan is available for public review at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours and on the Town’s website at https://www.essexnewyork.com.
All persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. Written comments may also be submitted to the Town Clerk at townclerk@townofessexny.gov or 2313 Main Street, Essex, New York 12936 prior to the hearing or within 30 days after the public hearing.

Town of EssexApril 21, 2026 - PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Essex will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, April 28th at 10:00 AM at Essex Town Hall, 2313 Main Street, Essex for the purposes of authorizing a down payment of 50% to No Limit Electric. The bid for electrical upgrades to the Highway Breakroom building was accepted in March 2026.

April 20, 2026 - Quarter 1 Drinking Water Violation Notice from the New York State Department of Health
January 13, 2026 - The Town of Essex will never request payments via email links or wire transfers. All fees for planning and zoning applications, as well as water and sewer payments must be paid in person at Town Hall, via USPS mail or through Paygov (water/sewer only). Official town emails will only come from @townofessexny.gov addresses. If you receive an email requesting payment, contact the Town Clerk’s office at 518-963-4287 x1 before responding.

Dateline: August 30, 2021 - Insufficient Funds Check Fee - Effective 8/26/2021 by order of Resolution #123-2021, the Town of Essex will charge $35.00 for all dishonored or stopped payment checks given to the Town of Essex for services.
